Our Angus cross cattle are pasture raised without added growth hormones or given any antibiotics. The last 60-90 days they are fed a natural grain diet and never any animal by-products.
Our retail labels are now approved by the state!
Steaks, ground beef patties and 1# packages of ground beef are now available at
Mad River Farm Market, 7538 N. State Route 68, West Liberty
(just north of West Liberty Schools), 937-465-2030.
Also available for a limited time for pick up at the farm by special order
(call Gina at 937-206-7029 to make arrangements):
$40 Grilling packages- Approximately 9-9.5 lbs. of meat that is approximately 1/2 steaks and 1/2 ground beef and ground beef patties.
or $40 Sampler packages- 9.5-10 lbs. of assorted cuts with approximately 1/2 roasts and steaks and 1/2 ground beef.
We feel that once you try our beef you will want to order a larger quantity!
Current price for a whole beef is $1.95/pound hanging weight.
Half a beef or a quarter (half of a half) is $2.00/ pound hanging weight.
Hanging weight is the weight of the carcass after slaughter on the rail. There will be additional bone weight and scrap loss so it will not equal the pounds of beef that you take home.
We require $50 per half deposit at the time that you place an order. We will call you with a date that they will go to the processor and then again when we get a hanging weight. Please pay Roseberry Cattle Company directly for the meat. The carcass hangs for 2 weeks (in a cooler) for aging of the beef.
For processing we currently use Copey’s in Medway, Ohio 937-849-1338. They are located right off I-70 just west of Springfield, Ohio. They currently charge $.40/pound for processing whole or halves and $.50/pound for split halves (half of a half) for standard processing. There are additional charges for patties and other special processing. There is a $40 kill charge that is split for each animal. You are responsible for contacting Copey’s within the 1st week after hanging weight notification and giving them your contact information and cutting instructions. Let us know if you would like some suggestions for packaging. They will contact you when your meat is ready for pickup and you will pay them directly for processing.

For example: for a 550# hanging weight a half would be 275# at $2.00/# that would be $550.00 paid to Roseberry Cattle Company for meat. $20 kill charge + $110 processing (275# x $.40) = $130 to Copeys. $680.00 Total for a half.
